It serves as the central operational, technical, production and administrative base for the World Games broadcast operations. It provides a workspace for broadcasters to produce television and radio coverage of the event.</p><p>The World Games provide the unique setting for thousands of athletes from different sports and countries to join in a celebration of unity and friendship across all boundaries. It is made up of 32 International Sports Federations governing all those sports and disciplines of sports which are eligible for participation in the Official Sports Program. The World Games will take place in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, July 16 &acirc;&euro;&ldquo; 26, 2009 and is the first international multi-sport event to be held in Taiwan and is slated to be the largest event in the history of Kaohsiung.</p><p>Public Television Services (PTS), the host broadcaster for the World Games 2009, opted for Apantac&acirc;&euro;&trade;s TAHOMA Multiviewers for the extensive signal monitoring of incoming feeds from the different sports venues. TAHOMA LE-16 High Definition (HD) Multiviewers accept feeds from venue cameras and present the multiple images on large displays for the technical staff to monitor the events. Up to 16 feeds can be displayed on a single display, providing an optimal solution to simultaneously view multiple sources.</p><p>The TAHOMA series are a 3G family of Multiviewers that auto-detects 4 to 32 video inputs (HD/SD-SDI/Composite), supports DVI, HDMI and VGA outputs up to 2048x1080 (incl. 1080P), and includes built-in video and audio alarm detection. The TAHOMA series incorporates a built-in CATx extender, which allows digital 1080P signals to be extended up to 115 feet. The unique combination of a Multiviewer and built-in CATx extender in a single solution helps reduce overall equipment costs and eliminates any equipment compatibility issues that may arise. </p><p>Apantac&acirc;&euro;&trade;s skin technology lets users personalize their on-screen display with any graphics tool. Video windows on the display may include multiple labels, and support UMD, OMD, IMD and standalone labels. Tahoma Multiviewers include 16 channels of embedded audio per input with 4 channels of discrete analog or digital audio as an option. Audio can be associated with the video windows or work as standalone audio meters. </p><p>The front panel of the Tahoma series also offers a unique feature-set that includes a headphone jack with volume adjustment for audio monitoring.
